GDFW的主要目的是一起為有效的職場事工能實行在每個職場、社區和國家來共同祈禱。此次活動將在每個時區的中午12點至下午1點舉行, 或 5 月 1 日的其他方便時間。「工作即敬拜」是活動的主題，強調如何使日常工作和職場角色成爲實踐大使命的機會。參與的企業、教會、事工、神學院和組織機構在當地舉辦差派禮，裝備信徒成爲在職場有使命感的門徒。
GDFW旨在團結全球基督徒社群來慶祝、委身，將信仰融入職場。鼓勵信徒在職場實踐他們的呼召。值得注意的是，GDFW是在2024年9月26日由洛桑職場網絡和世界福音聯盟贊助，在首爾-仁川舉行的第四屆洛桑大會上宣布的。

This is because the marketplace is where they spend most of their waking hours. We endeavor to help them adopt Christ-like values so that their decision-making will be based on Biblical ethics and principles, thereby bringing God’s presence into their work environments and hence reaching out and eventually discipling their pre-believing colleagues and business associates. The ministry was started by David Wong who initiated Bible discussions in his office with his colleagues and some of his business associates. 角聲佈道團 , CCHC, www.ny.cchc.org 自1982年成立於紐約，分會遍及全球，致力於結合社會關懷與福音傳播，以「透過實際服務，讓民眾看見上帝的愛」為宗旨，實踐結合關懷與佈道、領回圈外的羊的使命。在城市宣教的異象下，角聲於紐約設立三個移民服務中心，成為華人社區中明確且積極的基督徒見證。其服務內容涵蓋城市關懷、社區關懷及全人關懷三大面向，具體包括：協助新移民適應並融入美國主流社會，與市政府及全國主流宣教機構合作；提供多元化服務與轉介至政府部門與非營利機構；針對年輕人、長者及新移民家庭提供全方位的支持與關懷。角聲以實際行動回應社區需求，透過舉辦社區論壇、捐血活動、免費法律諮詢、暑期工讀計劃、免費報稅服務、癌症關懷、新移民家庭及工人全方位宣教等方式，實踐「堅定的信仰，愛心的關懷，活出聖經的價值觀」，積極將福音帶入城市社區和職場的各個層面，展現基督信仰的真實與力量，成為社區中的鹽與光。
中國信徒佈道會（CCM 中信), www.ccmusa.org, 於一九六一年十月成立，異象是團結全球華人教會及信徒的力量，以各種渠道，向骨肉同胞傳揚神愛世人的喜訊。以文字宣教開始，現時已發展為多元化差會。「福音傳華民、恩澤遍萬邦」為主要策略，差派宣教士前往世界各地華人聚居之處，向當地華人宣講福音，然後透過當地華人信徒再傳給其他民族，以使萬邦也繼而得著福音的恩澤。近年來更是透過福音中心推動職場福音與連結事工，希冀在職場宣教領域投注一份力量。
華人策略聯盟 Chinese Strategy Alliance (CSA) 組織網站 異象：專注在履行主的大誡命與大使命，也就是合一與宣教。使命：構建全美華人教會的結盟平台。致力全美華人教會聯合禱告的復興運動，為神國，為子孫而戰。推動穆宣與未觸之民的宣教，提升教會宣教意識。策略：宣講”合一守望禱告”與跨文化”合一宣教”的信息、拜訪連結、並舉辦特會等，來實踐大誡命與大使命。

西雅圖證道堂 (ECC, https://eccseattle.org)在1960年代以服事大西雅圖區華人移民為異象得以建立。經歷五十多年，教會蒙神賜福，穩定成長，先後在大西雅圖區拓植多間姊妹教會。目前西雅圖證道堂以「一教會多堂址」模式，在西雅圖區、東區、北區共同推展本地事工，是一個多元文化、多年齡層、多敬拜堂、多種語言的教會，不屬於任何宗派。證道堂竭力成為一個有使命的教會，在全球差派、支持三十多位宣教士。近年來，教會推動注重全人成長的使命門徒裝備，在職場、家庭、社區建立以聖經為根基、有使命的門徒。證道堂的信仰理念是: 信心祝福，代代相傳。
